New for 2009

One of the new features that will happen at the 11th annual Hucktoberfest is a dinner made available to participating teams immediately following the games on Saturday. It will be a carb-loaded dinner featuring pasta, pizza, and other goodies. For entertainment, UW-Whitewater will take on the UW-Whitewater alumni in a showcase game under the lights. Tournament social will follow for those of age.

Almost 40 teams have already signed up for Hucktoberfest!

Badger State Games 2009

Just wanted to plug another tournament that I will be sudo-running along with the WSDC. The Badger State Games have been in operation for nearly 20 years and are known for its summer games aka Wisconsin amateur olympics. After a lengthy stay in Madison, the games are moving north to the Fox Cities (Appleton, WI area), which is my current residency. So, I've been asked to head up the ultimate portion of the games. We have a great facility lined up and I've made some changes to the event for the better over the previous years. New this year: the games are open to Illinois residents as the Frontier Games in IL have folded. Now who's the best mixed team in WI and IL?!

Details:
June 27-28, 2009 in Neenah's memorial park.
$90/team plus per player fee payable to the WSDC
Mixed tournament with up to three divisions: Competitive, Rec, and Juniors
Sign up online at http://www.sportsinwisconsin.com and click the ultimate frisbee tab on the left side once you are in the Badger State Games section.

First, T-play does start Friday night with rounds getting under way at 6:30pm. Friday's games will go to around 1am. T-play will resume Saturday at 3pm and will have the finals prior to midnight. No games on "Sunday" daytime.

Pizza will be delivered each night. Last year, each team received 3-4 large pizza's. We will provide water/other forms of hydration as well. We will be selling other food and merchandise at recession proof prices!

The champion receives the Midnight Dream cooler filled with Wisconsin cheese, sausage, and WI-produced beverages.

Each team should get 6 quality games. Fields have been known to be a little shorter because some of the fields are softball outfields (No fences though!)

Bids are pouring in and checks are trickling in...that means DO NOT wait until the last minute to sign your team up. Thanks and more info to come...
